Gearhouse Rental FAQs

When and where do I pick up and drop off my rental gear?

Gear is picked up and dropped off at Basecamp Cafe, which is located at 800 E. Thomas St, Seattle, WA 98102. Our pickup hours are 3pm-8pm daily and dropoff hours are 7am-8pm daily, holidays withstanding. We have loading zones located in the parking lot next to the cafe, which allow for easy load/unload of gear.

What models and brands do you carry?

Unlike other rental fleets, we pride ourselves on only carrying top-quality and proven brands and models, such as Rossignol, Salomon, Arcteryx, Osprey, K2, and many more. We also offer many styles within a specific gear category to make sure we have gear that suits every need and common preference (i.e. we carry both cork and foam grips for trekking poles). How does pricing work? 

For the majority of our rental gear, we offer a flat rental rate for up to 3 days. That means the rental cost will be the same, regardless if you rent for 1, 2, or 3 days. If you would like to rent for more than 3 days, we charge an additional % of the flat rental rate for each additional day. The % varies based on the gear.

What is your cancellation and refund policy?

To cancel your order, please email [email protected]. Cancellations are eligible for store credit on future reservations when made at least 1 month before pickup. If you do not cancel your order AND no show to pick up, you are not eligible to receive a refund.

Do you carry gear for other seasons?

Yes, we do! We carry an assortment of gear for all seasons and activities, like backpacking, mountaineering, mountain biking, and water sports. This gear is currently available to Gearhouse members. Learn more about Gearhouse membership
