Where to take your XC Skis from Seattle?

  1. The Summit at Snoqualmie: The closest groomed trail section to Seattle (less than 1 hour away!)
  2. Crystal Springs Snopark: A slightly easier (and cheaper!) area than The Summit at Snoqualmie - this is the area we most recommend to beginners!
  3. Cabin Creek or Hyak: These popular Snoqualmie-area trails are great for those looking to add more variety to their cross-country skiing through forested trails just a little past The Summit at Snoqualmie ski area.
  4. Stevens Pass Nordic Center: A great place to stretch the legs and visit Leavenworth for a german bratwurst after a day on the trails. 
  5. Mazama and Winthrop: An iconic and world-class cross-country ski area makes for a perfect weekend getaway!

Helpful Tips for Your Next Outdoor Gear Rental from Gearhouse

  • Located within the iconic Seattle local coffee shop Basecamp Cafe in the Capital Hill neighborhood; Gearhouse is a “social trailhead” for people to come gather, connect, and get outdoors together!
  • Everyone is welcome to rent outdoor gear from Gearhouse! Our rental prices are competitive and affordable, with awesome discounts on gear with a membership!   • We support same day reservations and walk-in's! Make a reservation online or drop by the Gear Counter inside Basecamp Cafe. Pickups and dropoffs are easy! Just reserve, grab your gear, and go! Returns are even easier with gear labelled with name and date and dropped off at the Gear Counter during cafe business hours and we'll take care of the rest! Gear Counter hours are between 8am-7pm daily. 
  • We carry a wide range of sizes! Unsure about what size to reserve? Select the closest size online or allow for a few extra minutes for a gear fitting during your selected pickup time. We will always make sure you are sent out with the best fitting and quality gear for your next adventure! 
  • Where can I find cross country ski rentals in Seattle? You can pick up your full Nordic kit at our "social trailhead" inside the Gearhouse Coffee Shop in Capitol Hill.
